NLU Delhi: Daljit Nirman

I am thrilled to share with you all an exciting new chapter in my professional journey. I have recently joined the esteemed National Law University Delhi as a Visiting Professor, a role that presents a unique opportunity to contribute to and learn from one of the leading law institutions in India.

With over three decades of rich experience in the legal domain, spanning across various sectors such as police governance, immigration, and corporate law, I am eager to bring my practical insights and scholarly work to the vibrant academic community at NLU Delhi. My career, marked by a commitment to unraveling legal complexities and making legal knowledge accessible, aligns with the university’s mission to foster a deep understanding of law among its students.

My academic foundation, with an LL.M. from the University of Ottawa and qualifications in Physics and Law from the University of Delhi, complements my professional experiences, allowing me to offer a multidisciplinary perspective to legal education. I am particularly excited about engaging with students and colleagues in a manner that bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enhancing the learning experience and preparing future legal practitioners for the complexities of the legal landscape.

Beyond the classroom, I remain committed to community service and societal improvement, values that I hope to share and cultivate within the NLU Delhi community. From initiatives like Cooking Up Community Services to my involvement with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, I believe in the power of giving back and building stronger communities.

As I embark on this new journey, I look forward to not only teaching but also learning from the diverse experiences and perspectives of the students and faculty at NLU Delhi. Together, I hope we can foster a culture of justice, ethics, and community engagement that extends beyond the university’s walls.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting venture, and thank you for your continued support and encouragement.

Warm regards,

Daljit S. Nirman
