As a former Ottawa Police Services Board member, I discuss the urgent need for reform within police services boards in Ontario. The existing model may obstruct progress on essential aspects such as accountability, cultural change, equity, diversity, and inclusivity within police services. I advocate for bylaw amendments that foster better information-sharing, increased transparency, and a more robust governance model.
